With more than 35 years of experience, Susan Mills Richmond, Esq. has built a distinguished career handling complex matters in bankruptcy and commercial law and litigation, collections, foreclosures, leasing and financing, real estate, landlord–tenant disputes, employment, and education law.
Ms. Richmond served as Senior Counsel at ADP and CDK Global, LLC, where she managed commercial and bankruptcy litigation as well as transactional work, developing strong client relationships at all levels of management. Earlier in her career, Ms. Richmond worked in-house for a major bank and practiced as a bankruptcy attorney at leading law firms, including Kaye, Scholer, and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan.
She also clerked for Chief Bankruptcy Judge Lifland before representing business clients in litigation and contract negotiations, as well as creditors and debtors in both solo practice and smaller firm settings.
In addition to corporate practice, Ms. Richmond dedicated many years as a Staff Attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Rockland County, where she vigorously represented clients in matters involving housing, evictions, disability, discrimination, access to benefits, and foreclosure defense, including bankruptcy filings and loan modifications. More recently, Ms. Richmond has served the legal publishing industry as an Attorney Reviewer, drafting client-facing legal content, and as a Legal Research Analyst, evaluating AI-generated legal responses.
Ms. Richmond is admitted to the New York State Bar, the Federal Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
